How it works
Dosage and Administration
Doxinate (Doxylamine Succinate/Pyridoxine Hydrochloride) must be taken exactly as your physician tells you to take it. These tablets are taken by mouth. Women are usually told by their physician to take 2 tablets at bedtime, as this will ensure that it begins to work in the morning. Some patients may be told to take one more tablet in the morning. This is to help manage vomiting occurring at midday. Another dose consisting of one tablet, taken in the afternoon may be prescribed, to prevent vomiting in the evening. It is important that all dosage instructions are strictly followed.
Common side effects
Nose or throat, Confusion or hallucinations., Dry mouth, Mild dizziness or drowsiness and blurred vision, Constipation, Little or no urination. Usually in hands and feet., Long term administration of large doses is associated with dysfunction of nerves resulting in numbness and pain
- If you have glaucoma (raised pressure in the eye), asthma, bronchitis (inflammation of air passages), emphysema (blocking of air flow to the lungs) or other chronic lung diseases.
- If you have problems with urination or an enlarged prostate.
- If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast-feeding a baby.
