General Instructions
Take Ethinyl Estradiol as directed by the specialist. Do not take Ovral G medicine in large or smalle quantities or for longer durations than recommended. It is advised to do regular follow-ups with the doctor while taking this medication.
When Not to Use?
Allergy
This drug is not advised for use in patients who have a known allergy to estrogen products or any other element present along with it.
This drug is not suggested for use if you have an irregular episode of vaginal bleeding which was not diagnosed.
Heart and blood vessel disorder
This drug is not suggested for use in patients having an illness of the heart or blood vessels viz. deep vein thrombosis, current heart attack, other blood clotting disorders, etc.
Estrogen-dependent tumor
This tablet is not suggested for use in patients having cancer which is attributed to irregular levels of the hormone estrogen in the human body for a prolonged duration.
Liver disease
Ovral G medicine is not recommended for use in patients having an impairment of liver function owing to an illness or other contributing factors.
General warnings
Abnormal vaginal bleeding
This drug should not be given to women having undiagnosed abnormal vaginal bleeding. Suitable tests should be performed to rule out cancer in all cases of irregular and persistent bleeding before therapy with ethinyl estradiol is initiated.
Cardiovascular risks
This tablet has been associated with an increased risk of stroke, heart attack, and other problems related to the heart. It should be used with care in a sick person having heart problems or are exposed to the risk factors.
Breast cancer
Use of this medication increases the risks of breast cancer and so should be used at the lowest doses, and the period of therapy should be kept as low as possible.
Jaundice
Use of this tablet can cause yellowing of the eyes and skin due to its effect on the liver and the gallbladder. Report the presence of any indication indicative of jaundice to the doctor on priority. Use of this drug should be stopped in such cases.
Edema
Use of this medicine, especially the local forms, may cause fluid retention or other associated problems in women. Any swelling of the eye, throat, tongue, arms, and feet should be consulting to the doctor.
Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Use of Ovral G tablet is not recommended if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy in the immediate future. Contact your medic if you suspect a pregnancy while being treated with this medicine.
Breastfeeding
This drug should be used with caution in women who are breastfeeding. Consult your physician before using this medication.
